Pharping Suspension Bridge view
The bridge is located near the historic Newari town of Pharping, nestled close to the Sokhel and Gopaleshwor areas. It spans a lush, deep green valley and connects surrounding local walking trails.
The Vibe: Surrounded by dense pine hillsides, flowing water, and peaceful village life, it offers visitors a complete escape from city noise. The gentle swaying motion of the long footbridge combined with the soothing mountain breeze has made it an immensely popular spot for creating TikToks, Instagram reels, and cinematic drone photography. Local Sightseeing: The bridge sits directly south of the historic Pharping Hydropower project—Nepal’s very first power plant. Travelers often bundle a trip here with spiritual visits to the nearby sacred Asura Cave and the ancient Shesh Narayan Temple.
The bridge is located approximately 18 to 23 kilometers south of downtown Kathmandu. The driving journey takes roughly 45 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
